Inspired by Rainer Maria Rilke’s Sonnets to Orpheus, this choral work explores the ephemeral yet ever-present nature of breath. Wave-like melodies and layered textures allow the choir to fill the space, turning invisible breaths into a resonant, flowing soundscape that reflects on memory, presence, and connection. Designed for flexibility, it may be performed one singer per part or in full choral sections, making it ideal for small or large advanced ensembles.
The piece is SS AA TT BB divisi throughout.
